When working with beginners, feline tai chi master Kat Tai-Dai Mau finds that some cats, toms in particular, can have a little trouble getting used to the hip circles that figure heavily into some schools of tai chi practice.

Tai’s pro tip: “Toms, if you’re having trouble getting the hang of the hip circles, try practicing with a couple of hoops. Once you get the motion down, you can stop bothering with the hoops.  Also some cats find it easier to do this motion from an all-fours stance, while some prefer a hind-leg stance similar to that used by humans.”
