Although much of feline tai chi master Kat Tai-Dai Mau’s daily regimen involves physical activity, it is also important for him to be knowledgeable about the philosophy behind the tai chi practice that he teaches, so periodically, he needs to reserve a few hours to catch up on his reading. He sometimes reads with his human, but because he has found that humans in general tcan get rather pissy when they are reading, he often prefers the company of his friend Randy Dognextdoor, who doesn’t rock the hammock, interfere with his work, or get restless and spill coffee. (“You would think,” Tai says, “that they would learn the connection between the restlessness and the caffeine, but apparently not. You have to be patient with humans, though, because they are very slow learners.”
